Expertise & Credentials
Jillian is a highly trained and licensed mental health professional with extensive experience supporting women through life’s many transitions. She holds a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Monmouth University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), and Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS). She also holds a Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C), deepening her specialized expertise in supporting women navigating pregnancy, postpartum challenges, and motherhood.
With over 15 years of experience in the mental health and addiction recovery field, Jillian has worked in outpatient treatment centers, detox facilities, inpatient programs, and private practice settings. She has supervised clinicians, managed large-scale therapy programs, and provided compassionate care for women experiencing a range of mental health and substance use concerns.
Before becoming a therapist, Jillian spent over a decade working in animal care and veterinary medicine—a foundation that continues to inform her work today. Her deep understanding of animal care work allows her to support veterinary professionals and animal caregivers with empathy, insight, and lived experience—especially in areas of pet loss, burnout, and compassion fatigue.
Outside the therapy room, Jillian is most at home on a hiking trail, at the gym, or curled up with a good horror movie. She loves spending time with her husband, kids, and their three cats—and believes that laughter, movement, and connection are essential parts of healing.
A Therapist Who Understands
Beyond her credentials, Jillian’s passion for supporting women is deeply personal. After experiencing perinatal mood disorders following the birth of her son, she recognized how difficult it was to find the right mental health support. This experience fueled her mission to create Awake My Soul Therapy—a space where women can be vulnerable, feel heard, and receive the compassionate guidance they need.
Her approach to therapy is warm, casual, and deeply personal. She believes in empowering women to set boundaries, ask for what they need, and embrace self-care as an essential part of their well-being. She takes a person-centered approach while integrating cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based techniques to help women build resilience and confidence.
