Frequently asked questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do we begin?

If you're here, you're likely thinking about making a meaningful change, and that takes courage. Before scheduling a session, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to get to know each other a bit. You’ll have the chance to share what’s bringing you in, ask any questions, and see if the fit feels right.

What can I expect in the first session?

Our first session is a 60-minute evaluation, which means we’ll spend more time gathering background and exploring your history. It might not feel like a typical therapy session at first—but that’s okay. These early conversations lay the foundation for the work ahead. Over the next few weeks, we’ll continue to build rapport and clarify what you’d like to work on together.

How long are sessions?

Ongoing individual therapy sessions are 50 minutes long. The initial evaluation session is 60 minutes.

How often will we meet?

Most clients begin with weekly sessions. This helps build momentum, establish trust, and create space for meaningful progress. As therapy evolves, we can adjust the frequency to meet your needs—biweekly or monthly check-ins.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes. I offer both in-person and virtual therapy to accommodate your lifestyle and preferences. Sessions are held via a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform when meeting remotely.

Do you take insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not bill insurance directly. However, I can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. It's a good idea to check with your provider to understand your out-of-network benefits.

Paying out-of-pocket allows for more flexibility and together we can decide what frequency and approach work best for you.

Do you offer sliding scale options?

I reserve a limited number of sliding scale spots for clients with financial need. At this time, those spots are full—but please feel free to reach out for referrals if you're seeking lower-fee therapy.

What issues do you specialize in?

I work with adult individuals and specialize in women’s mental health. Areas of focus include perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, parenting and identity shifts, life transitions, grief, and pet bereavement. Therapy is tailored to your specific needs, and sessions may include mindfulness, nervous system support, coping strategies, and space to explore your story with care and clarity.
